Nacka gymnasium is one of the Stockholm area's largest and most popular upper secondary schools, and we are now seeking a chef for our vegetarian food in our school restaurant, as our beloved chef who currently has this responsibility will be retiring. We always strive to be Sweden's best upper secondary school!
Your assignment
Together with a kitchen team of 18 people, you will be involved in serving 3,300 portions of food daily to students and staff at Nacka gymnasium and Ekliden school. In addition to lunch service, there are a few times per term dinners or lunches in connection with conferences or celebrations organized by the school.
Your tasks include preparation and cooking of school meals, primarily vegetarian food but special diets may also occur. We cook from scratch with the goal of not only preparing good and nutritious meals but also more climate-smart meals with active work to reduce food waste. You should have experience cooking vegetarian food from scratch and good understanding and knowledge of special diets. It's important to us that students and staff look forward to eating our food and have knowledge of both traditional home cooking and more modern taste influences. Since we are a large team, we depend on good communication and a curious and open attitude toward different working methods as well as a willingness to work together toward our set goals. In the kitchen, everyone helps with receiving deliveries and picking items. Nacka municipality is a forward-thinking municipality, which is reflected in our modern kitchen equipment but digital work tools may also be used.
We see school meals as a pedagogical resource and we know that students who are satisfied and full perform better during the school day. All kitchen staff therefore has a very important role at the school and our school restaurant is a central part of the school's operations.
Your experience:
- you are a trained chef
- you have at least three years of experience from large kitchens or larger restaurant kitchens
We are looking for someone who has:
- documented knowledge of food hygiene, completed HACCP training
- experience in preparation of vegetarian food
