As Assembly Manager for Temporary Bridges at the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket), you are part of facilitating everyday life for residents and businesses throughout Sweden. As an assembly manager, you are a practitioner with high technical expertise who is ready to pitch in when and where needed. The position is highly varied and at times very physically demanding, which requires you to be in good physical condition. You have the ability to see both details and the bigger picture in operations. You will have increased responsibility for specific bridge components/materials where you maintain order and organization of materials, inventories, and perform maintenance. You must be able to lead others both in material handling and in connection with operations or bridge assembly. The role also includes cooperating with the logistics coordinator or depot personnel regarding resource and transport needs. You will lead personnel, both internally and externally. You will work to ensure work environment standards and conduct self-inspections during bridge assembly and subsequent scheduled follow-up inspections. In most cases you will lead others who have bridge expertise, but you should also be able to lead and train personnel with no experience in bridges. Therefore, it is important that you have strong pedagogical abilities. You should be able to find safe solutions rather than see limitations. When you start this position, you will receive internal training in bridge assembly. At the start of a bridge construction project, you will receive a method description explaining the bridge assembly. It is important that you work with accuracy and precision based on drawings and construction documents. The position involves work at both our depots and at other locations. During week-long periods throughout the year you will be out in the field on various types of operations, both operations where we support the Transport Administration first and society second, as well as helping colleagues in other regions across the country. We work nationwide with operations, inventory management, and bridge assembly. As an operational resource within Vehicle Resources, you work to ensure that our equipment, vehicles, and materials maintain high quality and are ready for deployment.
