JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a native language teacher and study advisor, you will support students in their language and knowledge development through the use of their native language, and serve as a cultural and linguistic bridge. You do this, among other things, through close collaboration with the student's mentor and teaching instructors. You conduct high-quality instruction and take an inclusive approach. You will work with students of various ages. The position may be located at one or multiple school units. The position includes • planning native language instruction based on the curriculum in the subject of native language • planning study guidance based on the student's and subject's needs • planning your instruction in collaboration with subject teachers, mentors, and other pedagogical staff so that it meets the student's individual needs • using digital tools for both student learning and planning and documentation of instruction • taking responsibility for assessment and grading • reporting attendance • serving as the public face of Järfälla Language Center QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who • have the current language as your native language or have documented strong knowledge of the language • have very strong knowledge of Swedish and your native language in both spoken and written form • have good knowledge of the culture and school system in the countries from which students come • have good knowledge of Swedish culture and the Swedish school system • are familiar with the Swedish school curriculum and other governing documents • have teacher training or equivalent pedagogical education and experience • have experience in native language instruction and study guidance • find it easy to meet students individually and in groups and to build good relationships • have good computer skills • have great flexibility and a solution-focused approach, as rapid changes can occur in the assignment based on the needs of the schools • are accustomed to taking significant personal responsibility and can work independently As a native language teacher, you will meet a large number of staff members with whom you need to be able to collaborate, both native language colleagues and subject teachers at the schools. The ability to collaborate with all your colleagues and other staff is a prerequisite for working with us.
