In Ludvika, children and youth are important! We demonstrate this by making children and youth central to the municipal organization. Most resources directed toward children and youth have been consolidated under one committee. This includes preschool, primary school, adapted primary school, and child and family services. All operations share a commitment to conscious quality work to continuously develop and improve our work with children and youth. Workplace In Ludvika municipality, during school year 26/27, there are approximately 1,060 students with a native language other than Swedish. The Multilingualism Unit is the department within primary school where all subject tutors and native language teachers are employed. There are 26 of us in total, and together we speak 23 different languages. We work together to promote native languages and to ensure that language does not become a barrier to student success. Ludvika municipality has been part of the administrative area for the Finnish language since February 1, 2015. Job Duties You teach your first language in the primary school subject "Native Language" according to the national curriculum. You prepare, conduct, and evaluate instruction and document students' knowledge development. From grade 6 onward, you grade students according to the subject's competency requirements. As a teacher, you actively work with values-based education according to the national curriculum. Through instruction, students should be given the opportunity to develop their ability to: Express themselves and communicate in speech and writing Use their native language as a means for their language development and learning Adapt language to different purposes, audiences, and contexts Distinguish linguistic structures and follow linguistic norms Read and analyze fiction and other texts for different purposes Reflect on traditions, cultural phenomena, and societal issues in areas where the native language is spoken, based on comparisons with Swedish conditions. You provide subject tutoring to students in their native language, in consultation with subject teachers, in connection with lessons in various subjects. You assist with translation during student meetings and in conveying information between school and student/home. Flexibility is of great importance as schedules and student composition may change during the term. Teaching takes place at various schools in Ludvika municipality. Qualifications You are a qualified native language teacher You have documented good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing, equivalent to upper secondary level You have documented good knowledge of the native language You have computer skills You are familiar with Swedish schools and their core values You hold a driver's license Personal Qualities You have good collaborative skills and easily build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues You are attentive and flexible and work to support students in achieving greater goal attainment. Great weight is placed on personal suitability. The work involves working at different schools in the municipality, which may require you to move between schools during the workday. Since travel occurs between schools, a driver's license is required.
