JOB DUTIES As a native language teacher and study guide, you support students in their language and knowledge development using their native language, and serve as a cultural and linguistic bridge. You do this through close collaboration with the student's mentor and teaching instructors. You conduct high-quality instruction and maintain an inclusive approach. You will work with students of various ages. The position may be located at one or more school units. The position includes: • planning native language instruction based on the curriculum in the native language subject • planning study guidance based on the student's and subject's needs • planning your instruction in collaboration with subject teachers, mentors, and other pedagogical staff so that it meets the student's individual needs • using digital tools for both student learning and planning and documentation of instruction • responsibility for assessment and grading • reporting attendance • being the face of Järfälla Language Center QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who • has the relevant language as a native language or has documented good knowledge of the language • has very good knowledge of Swedish and your native language in both spoken and written form • has good knowledge of culture and school systems in the countries from which students come • has good knowledge of Swedish culture and the Swedish school system • has knowledge of the Swedish school's curriculum and other governing documents • has teacher training or equivalent pedagogical education and experience • has experience in native language instruction and study guidance • finds it easy to meet students individually and in groups and to build good relationships • has good computer skills • has great flexibility and a solution-focused approach as there can be rapid changes in the assignment based on the needs of the schools • is accustomed to taking significant personal responsibility and can work independently As a native language teacher, you interact with many staff members you need to be able to collaborate with, both native language colleagues and subject teachers at the schools. Being able to collaborate with all your colleagues and other staff is a prerequisite for working with us. Great emphasis is therefore placed on personal suitability, which means that in addition to formal qualifications, we highly value the ability to interact and collaborate as well as being a solution-oriented team player.
