Workplace Description
Language Center is a unit within the department for learning support and student well-being. Language Center offers native language instruction and study guidance in the native language in approximately 70 different languages for students in Stockholm municipal schools. We currently have about 400 employees.
Language Center's activities aim to maintain and develop children's and young people's multilingualism and contribute to increased goal achievement for students with a native language other than Swedish. As a teacher at Language Center, you are mobile and work at multiple schools throughout the municipality.
Job Responsibilities
The work consists of native language instruction and study guidance in the native language for students in Stockholm schools. The instruction is primarily in grades F-9 of primary school, but it is desirable to be able to teach at the secondary level as well. You collaborate with colleagues and have teaching assignments at multiple schools.
Qualifications
We view native language instruction and study guidance as a very important part of students' language development and goal achievement. Language-developing work methods in all subjects are therefore a high priority. We expect you to have a holistic view of students' learning and are curious about developing your profession with us. You have:
Teacher education with credentials in the relevant language
Experience as a native language teacher and study guide
The current teaching language as your native language
Good computer skills
Meritorious:
Experience teaching at Language Center in Stockholm city
Good knowledge of spoken Swedish
