Language Center offers native language instruction and study guidance in the mother tongue in approximately 70 different languages for students in Stockholm municipal schools. We currently have approximately 400 employees. Language Center's activities aim to maintain and develop children's and young people's multilingualism and contribute to increased goal attainment for students whose mother tongue is not Swedish. As a teacher at Language Center, you are itinerant and work at several schools in the municipality. Work Tasks The work consists of native language instruction and study guidance in the mother tongue for students in Stockholm schools. Teaching is primarily for primary school grades F-9, but it is desirable to be able to teach at secondary school level as well. You collaborate with colleagues and have teaching assignments at multiple schools. Qualifications We view native language instruction and study guidance as a very important part of student language development and goal attainment. Language-developing work methods in all subjects are therefore a high priority. We expect you to have a holistic view of student learning and be curious about developing your profession with us. You have: Teacher certification with qualifications in the current language The current teaching language as your mother tongue Experience as a native language teacher and study guidance instructor Good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form Good computer skills Meritorious: Experience teaching at Language Center in Stockholm City Other Upon employment, a certificate from the police record check will need to be provided. Schools or preschools, e-service | Swedish Police Authority (polisen.se) We place great emphasis on personal suitability, motivation, and commitment to the position. Only a qualified teacher can receive a permanent employment. The position is filled subject to the need continuing to exist. Employment may be withdrawn in the event of any redundancy. When you submit your application, you will be asked to answer a number of selection questions that will form the basis for our continued selection process. It is very important that you answer the questions honestly and concretely. Stockholm City uses competence-based recruitment aimed at considering each person's competence and thus preventing discrimination. To work in our schools, you must provide a valid certificate from the police record check and suspicion register before an employment offer is made. Within the Education Administration, we apply individual salary setting regulated by HÖK and General Terms (AB).
