Workplace Description
Language Center is a unit within the Department for Learning Support and Student Wellbeing. Language Center offers native language instruction and subject-specific tutoring in the native language in approximately 70 different languages for students in Stockholm's municipal schools. We currently have approximately 400 employees.
Language Center's activities aim to maintain and develop children's and young people's multilingualism and contribute to increased goal achievement for students whose native language is not Swedish. As a teacher at Language Center, you work across multiple schools in the municipality.
Job Responsibilities
The work consists of native language instruction and subject-specific tutoring in the native language for students in Stockholm's schools. Teaching is primarily in primary school grades F-9 (ages 6-15), but the ability to teach at the secondary level is desirable. You collaborate with colleagues and have teaching assignments at multiple schools.
Qualifications
We consider native language instruction and subject-specific tutoring to be a very important part of student language development and goal achievement. Language-developing teaching methods in all subjects are therefore highly prioritized. We expect you to have a holistic view of student learning and are interested in you developing your profession with us. You have:
Current teaching language as your native language
Good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing
Good computer skills
Merits include:
Teacher training with qualifications in the current language
Experience as a teacher
Previous experience at Language Center in Stockholm city

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. Only qualified teachers can receive permanent employment.
Interviews take place on a rolling basis; the position may be filled before the final application deadline.
