About the Position
We are now seeking native language teachers in Finnish, Spanish, and Thai for hourly employment within the central student welfare service.
As a native language teacher, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on instruction in accordance with the Swedish National Agency for Education's guidelines. Through your teaching, you strengthen students' language development, identity, and opportunity to develop both their native language and multilingualism.
The instruction covers students in grades F–6 attending different schools in Hjo Municipality. It takes place mainly after regular school hours and can be conducted both individually and in small groups based on students' needs.
Your duties include:
planning, implementing, and evaluating native language instruction
adapting instruction to students' language level and needs
documenting instruction and writing assessments
collaborating with school staff and guardians
participating in network meetings and follow-ups as needed.
You work independently but have support from the student welfare supervisor and other colleagues within the service.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
upper secondary education or other education that the employer deems equivalent
very good proficiency in the native language you will teach
good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written
pedagogical ability and an interest in children's learning and development.
It is advantageous if you:
have teacher training or are studying to become a teacher
have experience in teaching or other pedagogical work with children and young people.
Since instruction takes place at multiple schools within the municipality, you need to have a B driving license and access to your own car.
