Systems Engineer – Door Control Functions (SW & HW)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced systems engineer in the automotive industry with strong expertise in embedded systems, software integration, and ECU development.
In this role, you will be responsible for driving the development, integration, verification, and delivery of software and hardware functions related to vehicle control systems. You will work cross-functionally with systems, software, hardware, and test teams, and serve as the technical point of contact with external suppliers.
This role is ideal for someone with solid experience in automotive embedded systems who enjoys coordinating technical activities, solving complex problems, and ensuring high-quality deliverables throughout the development process.
We particularly encourage female engineers to apply, and fluent Swedish language skills are a requirement.
Key Responsibilities
Software and Systems Integration (primary focus)
- Drive development, integration, verification, and release activities for vehicle-related ECU functions.
- Coordinate software deliverables and monitor maturity, quality, and delivery status.
- Lead technical reviews and ensure development objectives are achieved.
- Manage deviations, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Ensure development complies with functional safety, cybersecurity, and development process requirements.
Hardware and ECU Integration
- Coordinate hardware deliverables, design reviews, and validation activities.
- Support ECU hardware integration and prototype verification.
- Ensure alignment between hardware, software, and system requirements.
- Participate in problem-solving during integration and verification activities.
Supplier and Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the technical contact with external development partners and suppliers.
- Drive technical meetings, follow-ups, and delivery planning.
- Identify and manage risks, dependencies, and quality issues.
- Ensure deliverables meet the project's technical objectives and requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Academic degree in electrical engineering, electronics, computer science, embedded systems, mechatronics, or equivalent.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in the automotive industry with focus on embedded software, systems integration, and release management.
- Strong understanding of automotive software, ECU architecture, and development processes.
- Experience with AUTOSAR, diagnostics, and communication protocols in vehicles.
- Experience with:
- CAN / CAN FD
- LIN
- Automotive Ethernet
- Diagnostic protocols
- Experience with verification, HIL testing, integration testing, and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of ECU hardware, vehicle electrical systems, and hardware development.
- Experience with tools such as:
- CANoe
- vTestStudio
- Jira
- Confluence
- Teamcenter
- Planisware or similar development tools
- Knowledge of ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) and ISO 21434 (Cybersecurity) is a plus.
- Experience with supplier management and technical coordination.
- Good communication skills in English. Swedish language skills are highly desirable.
