As an Environmental Coordinator with us, you'll have a key role in this work, as the position's primary focus is on Water and Wastewater (VA) – everything from water sources to distribution networks and treatment plants.
The entire department consists of approximately 130 dedicated colleagues. The department also includes waste management operations, which are currently facing exciting challenges in collection and recycling to reduce Region Gotland's carbon footprint. You will be part of the Administration and Development unit – a broad and skilled group of 14 employees who serve as a shared resource within the VA and waste management department.

Your responsibilities
In your role as Environmental Coordinator, you have a central and driving function. You are responsible for ensuring that our units meet their environmental requirements according to the Environmental Code (MB), which includes conducting risk assessments for our wastewater and water treatment plants as well as managing self-monitoring programs, permit applications, and EU reporting.
Your main responsibilities include:
Drive internal development work in environmental and climate matters and ensure that relevant procedures are in place and followed up.
Implement activities related to Region Gotland's environmental and climate scorecard and annually report environmental work to the management group.
Participate in supervision visits, respond to inspection reports, and actively participate in the Revaq group.
Interpret laboratory analyses regarding mass handling and drive related permit reviews.
Gather and report statistics to Swedish Water's database (VASS), calculate carbon dioxide emissions, and participate in relevant networks.
Share environmental news on our intranet (Insidan).
The position involves travel within the region, and therefore a B driver's license is a requirement.
Who are you?
We're looking for someone with relevant higher education or university degree (for example in environmental science, chemistry, biology, or civil engineer with environmental focus). You have at least 5 years of relevant experience in qualified environmental work.
A B driver's license is a requirement for the position.

Since you will collaborate with many different functions and also present in various forums, it's important that you are a skilled communicator both verbally and in writing.
