We offer an exciting position as a substitute environmental coordinator while the regular environmental coordinator is on parental leave. The position is region-wide and strategically placed within the Regional Staff for Sustainability and Safety. You will be involved in how work on environmental sustainability develops over time together with all the region's operations and colleagues.
As an environmental coordinator, you will have a central role in the region's work for increased environmental sustainability. You coordinate collaborations and drive development within areas such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, consumables, and sustainable practices. You will also work on developing and updating guidelines, procedures, and informational materials within the environmental field, as well as monitor legislation and other requirements that affect operations.
You will also participate in improvement and development projects that contribute to more sustainable use of materials and resources. In this role, you serve as an advisor and support in environmental and sustainability matters. You participate in supervisory visits, contribute to the development of management systems, and conduct training for the operations' sustainability representatives. The work also includes internal audits and support during external audits.

About You
You have relevant university education and preferably several years of work experience within the sustainability field that the employer deems appropriate. You have knowledge of environmental legislation and experience with environmental or sustainability work in an operation or organization. Experience with environmental management systems and internal audits is meriting.
To thrive in the role, you need to be able to plan and prioritize your work in a structured way. You have an easy time making contacts, communicating with different target groups, and building trusting relationships. You are initiative-taking, see opportunities for improvement, and enjoy translating ideas into practical solutions.
The position may involve work-related travel and a Class B driver's license is required. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability and ability to cooperate.
Selection will be made on an ongoing basis. The position is a substitute role with start no later than October.

Regional Staff for Sustainability and Safety is a central support function that works region-wide for environmentally sustainable and safe operations. We are a total of 17 employees who provide support in various matters within quality, environment, sustainability, safety, crisis and preparedness, information security, and management systems. We have close cooperation both within the unit and with other staff units and administrations to find sustainable and safe solutions together.
Our unit is part of the Regional Staff, which consists of 150 employees with expertise in areas such as economics, law, HR, communication, planning, coordination, sustainability, safety, infection control, and care hygiene. Everyone works to develop the organization and improve life for the residents of Kalmar Region. Within our respective areas of expertise, we also provide support to Region Kalmar's management, supervisors, and administrations.
