About the Community Development Department The Community Development Department is tasked with making Aneby Municipality attractive, sustainable, and safe, and with contributing to the municipality's continued growth in a sustainable and inclusive manner. The department works broadly within the community development field – from comprehensive and detailed planning to environmental and health protection, food safety, nature issues, energy and climate advice, mapping and GIS, rescue services, and safety matters. Your Assignment As an environmental inspector with us, you will have a varied and socially important assignment where you: Plan and conduct inspections and monitoring of operations, primarily within environmental protection according to the Environmental Code Document, follow up on, and bill performed inspections Handle complaints, reports, and environmental incidents Provide advice and service to business operators and municipal residents Contribute to project-oriented work, including through Environmental Cooperation Jönköping Region May participate in the municipality's overarching strategic environmental work In a smaller municipality like Aneby, the role means you work within most areas covered by environmental and health protection work—you simply get a broad and developmental role. You meet engaged colleagues, and work tasks are distributed based on competence, interest, and operational needs. Qualifications You thrive in a role where you combine authority functions with service, dialogue, and professional conduct. In addition to the above, we are looking for someone who has: University education in environmental and health protection, food safety, or other relevant specialization Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing A developed ability to work independently, structure, and drive your work forward Interest in working with many different issues and areas of work Ability to create good relationships and trustworthy conduct Category B driver's license It is meritorious if you have experience from municipal operations or have previously worked broadly within environmental and health protection. Scope Full-time, temporary position until April 30, 2028. Possible opportunity for extension. Start date January 1, 2027 or by agreement.
