We are looking for you to join us in continuing the development of the Environmental and Licensing Unit, where your previous experience will be valued! At the Environmental and Licensing Unit, we work to protect the health and environment of our residents. We do this through supervision, licensing decisions, and advisory services within environmental protection, health protection, food safety, contaminated land, and alcohol and tobacco regulations. Currently, five employees work with alcohol and tobacco supervision, and after this recruitment, seven employees will have environmental and health protection as well as food safety as their main responsibilities. The role of Environmental and Health Protection Inspector is broad and varied. As an environmental inspector, you will have many internal contacts within the municipality as well as with the public, customers, and other authorities. You will make independent decisions within your delegated authority and provide information, guidance, and advice to business owners and the public. Working hours are primarily during daytime, but weekend, evening, and night shifts may occur in connection with supervision activities. With us, work is flexible and there are great opportunities to structure how you organize your work. Qualifications We are looking for someone with relevant post-secondary education, for example in environmental and health protection or other education that the employer considers equivalent. You may also have acquired your knowledge through work experience in the field. We consider it advantageous if you have experience working as an inspector. We would appreciate work experience from a politically governed organization. The position requires good computer skills and a valid B-class driver's license. The work involves exercising governmental authority and contact with both business owners and private individuals. It is therefore important that you can express yourself clearly and pedagogically, both orally and in writing, and that you have a good and service-oriented approach. As a person, you are responsive to others' needs, perspectives, and situations, and you easily adapt your approach to different circumstances. You are collaboration-oriented and work unpretentiously with others to find constructive solutions and reach common goals. Flexibility and a positive attitude toward changing conditions are also important in this work. Through clear and engaging communication, you have the ability to gain acceptance for your thoughts and ideas, and to contribute to motivation, good performance, and positive team spirit.
