The Authority Division works with authority functions and service to the public within environment and health protection as well as planning and building permits.
Description
We are seeking an environment and health protection inspector who will work within the Authority Division, which handles building permits, urban planning, GIS, environmental protection, health protection, and food safety. Our supervision areas can include, for example, manufacturing industries, waste facilities, and agriculture. You will work together with three dedicated inspectors. We are both an authority and advisory body, and our operations are regulated by laws and governed by the Authority Committee. We want our organization to be characterized by providing good service to people who live and work in Kils Municipality. We want you to feel comfortable in your role as an authority representative and assume that you are well versed in legislation and have supervision experience. We are looking for someone who wants to help shape Kils Municipality's environmental code supervision.
Responsibilities
The focus of your work is to exercise supervision according to the Environmental Code, primarily with a focus on supervising environmentally hazardous activities, agriculture, individual wastewater systems, contaminated land, etc. Your work areas may vary based on your own expertise and experience in the field. You plan supervision work and conduct supervision visits. You independently handle qualified tasks such as investigations, planning, and follow-up within your specialty area. You write reports and formulate decision documents.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is trained as an environment and health protection inspector or has other university education that the employer deems equivalent. We would like you to have experience with environmental code supervision in municipal operations. You should be able to express yourself well orally and in writing, for example writing decisions and decision proposals. You are experienced working with digital tools. We will place great importance on personal suitability and ability to collaborate. It is important to provide good service to our residents and since the position involves many contacts, it is important that you are service-oriented and enjoy meeting new people.
