WORKPLACE: COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT The Environment and Building division works with regulatory authority in construction, environment, health protection, food, alcohol, tobacco, over-the-counter medicines, and gaming. The division is organized under the Community Development Department but has its own board, and as Environment and Building Director, you will be part of the Community Development Department's management group and are expected to contribute with a holistic perspective and be an asset in overarching strategic discussions, planning matters, and development goals. The department also manages the municipality's airport, Hagfors Airport. DUTIES AND QUALIFICATIONS As Environment and Building Director at Hagfors Municipality, you will work with both local and regional matters and will have close collaboration with the Community Development Director. You actively participate in the department's strategic mission. You have budget and results responsibility for your operations as well as personnel responsibility for employees within the division. Since the operations are small, some case management and handling may occur; however, you are primarily expected to work to ensure that employees within the division have the right competence and conditions to handle the division's matters independently and efficiently with high service awareness. For Hagfors Municipality, it is important that the operations are characterized by a humble attitude toward its mission and the challenges that the division's customers and counterparts face. As a division director, you should foster a good working and discussion climate where we prefer to help rather than hinder. To succeed in the role of Environment and Building Director, you need to be humble but clear in your leadership, have very good ability to collaborate and good communication skills. It is essential that you have the ability to place your role and your work in a broader perspective. Great weight will be placed on your personal qualities. We are looking for you with relevant university degree, for example in environmental law, planning and building law, or other education that, individually or in combination with work experience, can be assessed as equivalent by us as an employer. Previous experience in leadership within municipal or public operations as well as regulatory authority is meritorious. You speak and write fluent Swedish and have good knowledge of English in speech and writing. A driver's license with class B driving privileges is a requirement. Great weight will be placed on your personal qualities. Personality testing may be conducted at a later stage of the recruitment.
