Ropažu Municipality (Reg. No. 90000067986) Development and Construction Department invites applications for FORESTRY ENGINEER (Profession code 2149 24) (Fixed-term position) Job Responsibilities: • Prepare necessary information and participate in the municipality's development program and territorial planning regarding all forest use, protection, zoning, and other matters related to forests on municipal territory; • Participate in projects related to forest management and in the development of binding regulations, regulations, and instructions. Monitor their compliance with forestry industry regulatory acts; • Receive, process applications for tree felling outside forests, perform measurements and payment calculations; • Organize communication and correspondence with the Nature Protection Administration, State Environmental Service, State Forest Service, and other related institutions in accordance with forestry industry regulatory requirements; • Identify forests owned by the municipality, organize forest inventory preparation, receive and verify updated State Forest Service database information; • Manage and maintain forest boundary lines and boundary markers owned by the municipality, organize their renewal; • Monitor protection of municipal forests against unlawful use; • Identify and assess the natural, economic, and business values of municipal forests; • Monitor compliance with zoning requirements established in territorial plans for all forests on municipal territory. Requirements for Candidates: • Higher academic education or second-level professional higher education; • Preferred experience in a similar position at a municipality for at least one year; • Knowledge and ability to apply general regulatory acts of the forestry and environmental protection sectors; • Familiarity with forest ecology, economic conditions, typology, melioration, and road construction; • Ability to perform measurements necessary for forestry work; • Familiarity with forest product markets; • Practical ability to work with GPS; • Category B driver's license; • Initiative, ability to independently organize your work and work in a team. Ability to work dynamically, make independent decisions, find and analyze necessary information.
