Our office is located on Fleminggatan in central Stockholm. We currently have approximately 220 employees. About the Job The Justice Statistics Unit is now seeking a statistical methodologist. As a statistical methodologist, you will provide ongoing methodological support in statistics production and contribute to the development of statistical methods, processes, and products. You will also provide methodological support in connection with analyses, evaluations, and follow-ups. You will be part of the Function for Development of Justice Statistics (FUR). The function provides methodological support within the unit, develops new statistics, produces one-off statistics, and conducts quality studies. Your work will include: contributing to the development and creation of new statistics conducting and participating in quality studies providing methodological support for analyses, evaluations, and follow-ups participating in method and process development within statistics production analyzing statistical data and contributing to communicating results based on user needs providing methodological support in ongoing statistics production. The work is carried out in close collaboration with other colleagues in FUR and the Justice Statistics Unit. You will also collaborate with Brå's other statistics unit and with IT operations. As a statistical methodologist, you will also need to support collaboration with researchers and investigators internally at Brå and externally with other justice system authorities. Your Education and Experience We are looking for someone with a master's degree in statistics or mathematical statistics at least five years of experience with relevant tasks in society-related statistics experience with, for example, statistics production, method development, and statistical process development or equivalent qualified statistical work experience in compiling, analyzing, and communicating statistical data based on user needs experience in statistical processing and analysis using SAS or SPSS as well as R good knowledge of Swedish and excellent ability to express yourself clearly and pedagogically in writing. It is an advantage if you have: social science education in addition to your statistical education experience with administrative data and registers in statistics production experience developing and producing new statistics experience with automation and application of machine learning in statistics production. Your Personal Qualities To succeed in this role, you need to have good collaboration skills and at the same time be able to take personal responsibility for your work tasks. You have your own drive but are also used to discussing matters with colleagues and seeking support from others when needed. You need to be flexible and able to shift priorities when more pressing work tasks require it. We value an unpretentious approach and that you are comfortable asking questions and asking for help, and preferably share your own knowledge with others. Since an important part of the work is making statistics useful and understandable, it is an advantage if you enjoy communicating, both verbally and in writing. We place great importance on your personal qualities and abilities. Terms of Employment The position is a permanent full-time employment. Brå applies a six-month probationary period and individual salary setting. Desired start date is December 1, 2026.
