Methods Advisor for Support Team - Adult Resource Unit

Responsibilities We are now seeking a Methods Advisor for the Support Team within the Adult Resource Unit. The Resource Unit works with adults aged 18 and older in the areas of harmful substance use and addiction, intimate partner violence, and housing-related social issues. The operations consist of several teams with assignments from authorities, service provision, and outreach work. The Support Team meets individuals with harmful substance use and addiction, often in combination with mental health issues and other complex social problems. The work requires us to see the whole person while maintaining a clear professional direction with high quality and legal certainty. Social services are undergoing transformation. The new social services law, developments in comorbidity areas, and changing needs of those we meet require us to develop our methods and interventions. As a Methods Advisor, you have an important role in translating changes in legislation, knowledge, and the target group's needs into practice. You are expected to independently identify development needs, take initiative, and drive processes from idea to implementation and follow-up, in close dialogue with the unit manager and staff. You will lead the day-to-day work and be responsible for receiving, distributing, and following up on cases. You create structure, clarify expectations, and ensure that work is carried out in line with assignments, goals, and legislation. Through methods advice, service reviews, and follow-up, you help staff develop and deepen their professional work. You need to be able to lead on complex issues, weigh different perspectives against each other, and be willing to challenge reasoning and methods when necessary. Your responsibilities also include: - developing and following up on methods, routines, and working practices - contributing to quality and legal certainty in documentation and follow-up - identifying needs and driving improvement work - collaborating with internal and external stakeholders You work closely with the unit manager and Methods Advisor colleague and contribute to common direction and development in the operations. Qualifications The position requires a degree in social work or other education that the employer considers equivalent. You have experience in qualified social work and good knowledge of harmful substance use and addiction. You have an understanding of comorbidity and how mental health issues, addiction, and social factors interact and affect an individual's needs and circumstances. Experience from social services' authority work and service provision is a merit. You have experience independently driving projects or processes. Experience in methods advising, team leadership, and development work is a merit. Knowledge of, for example, MI, ESL, and care and support coordination is also a merit. To succeed in this role, you need to be able to combine a clear individual perspective with an understanding of social services' mandate and requirements for legal certainty. You are analytical and can see both the big picture and details. You take initiative, create structure, and independently drive projects and processes forward. You are comfortable taking responsibility and making decisions within the scope of your role without requiring constant guidance. You are confident and clear and willing to ask questions, challenge, and have difficult conversations when needed. At the same time, you are pedagogical and relationship-building and can create space for reflection and learning.
