About Us
At Solna Adapted Primary School, there are nine classes through fall 2026 that teach both subject-based and subject-area curricula. Our team includes mentors, student assistants, and practical arts teachers who are part of the faculty. The school is centrally located in Solna, near Solna centrum, in the Skytteholmskolan facilities.
We use various working methods based on different perspectives, with the individual at the focus. Instruction must be adapted to each student's needs and development. Students should receive quality instruction where the focus is on knowledge acquisition and a meaningful school day.
What Does the Position Entail?
We are now seeking a mentor for a subject-area class in grades 7-9 on a full-time basis (100%). The position requires high expertise in alternative communication, including work with both visual supports and sign language support. It also requires knowledge and experience working with students in the subject-area curriculum.
Work at the adapted primary school is structured so that you teach each class with the support of student assistants in instruction. Classes consist of 6-12 students depending on subjects or subject areas. We focus on accessible learning environments and differentiated instruction, and we work collegially on development within grades and assessment. We have a well-established student health team that works closely with teachers and students with a focus on preventive and health-promoting work in the school.
Who Are We Looking For?
We are seeking you who:
- are a certified teacher and special education teacher with qualifications to teach in adapted school settings
- have experience as a classroom teacher in adapted primary school
- practice instruction based on science and proven experience that enables you to create good learning environments (didactic, emotional, and physical)
- are well familiar with visual supports, AAC, and TAKK
- are well familiar with LGRA22
It is important that you have a positive attitude toward IT as a natural tool in both pedagogy and documentation.
