Middle School Teacher The Swedish Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually tailored involuntary care for youth with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse disorders. SiS Youth Home Ryds brunn consists of three units with space for 21 school-age boys; an MBB unit (reception and needs assessment), an open and a locked treatment unit, as well as an elementary school. Job Description As a teacher, you are responsible on behalf of the principal for student instruction in school. This includes necessary documentation, collaboration with staff at Ryds brunn and other institutions and external stakeholders, as well as development work. Students are between 12 and 16 years old, but instruction is based on each student's current knowledge level. Teaching takes place in small groups and is individualized to the greatest extent possible. Student mentoring is included, and you will be a mentor for 2-4 students. Qualifications We are looking for you with teaching certification for grades 4-6. Various subject combinations are of interest, and the position can therefore be customized based on the applicant's current qualifications. You are interested in working with students who face the greatest challenges in society and who need support from trustworthy and mature adults with big hearts and a strong ability to encourage and set clear boundaries. Many students have disabilities of a socioemotional and neuropsychiatric nature, so experience with this is desirable. You must be very flexible, work well with other professions such as psychologists, treatment assistants, and social services, and be able to express yourself well in speech and writing. Your desire to teach and your ability to build good relationships are crucial requirements for successful work with us. Great importance is placed on personal qualities.
