Strategic Leader in Patient Safety
Do you want to be part of developing the future of municipal primary care? As a Medical Director Nurse (MAS) in Linköping Municipality, you will have a central role in strengthening quality, patient safety, and development within care and support.
Your Tasks
As MAS, you work at an overarching level to ensure, monitor, and develop quality and patient safety within the municipality's primary care. The assignment covers both the Care and Support Administration's and Social Administration's operations as well as activities conducted by private providers on behalf of the municipality.
A central part of the assignment is to ensure the management of health and medical care by developing and maintaining directives and governing documents that support safe and equitable care.
An important part of the assignment is to monitor, inspect, and analyze operational results to identify areas for development. Through systematic monitoring and analysis, you identify risks and improvement needs and contribute to strengthening patient safety and the quality of care.
In this role, you are responsible for, among other things:
lead and develop systematic patient safety work
monitor quality and patient safety within municipal operations and private providers
analyze results, risks, and deviations and initiate improvement measures
ensure that laws, regulations, and national requirements are complied with
develop and maintain governing documents within the health and medical care field
handle Lex Maria processes and reports to the Health and Social Care Inspectorate (IVO)
provide expert support to management, operations, and committees on health and medical care issues
You work closely with other MAS colleagues, Medical Director for Rehabilitation (MAR), and development leaders. Together you contribute with different competencies to develop quality, patient safety, and knowledge-based care. The role also involves close collaboration with operations within the municipality, Region Östergötland, private providers, and other external actors. You also represent the municipality in regional and national networks.

You will be part of the unit Strategic Health and Medical Care within the department Contracts and Quality. Here, MAS, MAR, and development leaders work together with a focus on quality, patient safety, and operational development. About You
We are looking for a registered nurse with experience in municipal primary care and good knowledge of the legislation and regulations that govern municipal care and support.
It is meritorious if you have experience in quality, development, or investigation work, have worked in a leading or strategic function, or have relevant further education within the field.
To succeed in this role, you need to be able to switch between strategic perspectives and operations-related issues. You have good analytical ability, work in a structured manner, and have an ease in creating trusting relationships and collaborations.
As MAS, you have an important leadership function within the municipality. Therefore, we are looking for someone who is secure in both your profession and as a person. You have high integrity, can make independent assessments even in complex situations, and have the courage to stand up for quality, patient safety, and applicable regulations. You communicate clearly in Swedish in speech and writing and have the ability to create engagement, trust, and consensus on matters concerning the quality and development of care.
