Storuman Municipality is a large municipality in Southern Lapland. Approximately 6,000 people live here, just over half of them in the urban areas of Storuman/Stensele and Tärnaby/Hemavan. For those who enjoy living actively and close to nature, there is a fantastic range of activities, summer and winter. Imagine gliding along a well-prepared ski trail in the magical winter light, a mirror-like mountain lake on a summer evening when the sun never wants to set, a moor in a clearing in the forest shimmering like gold with ripe cloudberries, or a freshly brewed cup of coffee in a sunny spot in April. All this and more are experiences available in our immediate surroundings. Our municipality is not just a place to live, but a place where you can live a wonderful life. Storuman Municipality is a Sámi administrative municipality and we value knowledge of the Sámi language and culture.

ABOUT THE JOB
Now you have the opportunity to shape the future of municipal rehabilitation. We are looking for a Medical Responsible for Rehabilitation (MAR) who wants to contribute to developing safe, secure, and person-centered care close to residents.
From July 1, 2026, a national requirement for a Medical Responsible for Rehabilitation (MAR) will be introduced. We are therefore looking for someone who wants to take a strategic and central role in developing rehabilitation within municipal health and medical care. Through contractual collaboration, you will work for several municipalities with one of the municipalities as the formal employer. The collaborating municipalities are Lycksele, Storuman, Sorsele, and Malå. You have the opportunity to choose which of the municipalities you want to work from.
As MAR, you will have a key role in strengthening quality, patient safety, and medical expertise within rehabilitation and assistive devices. You will contribute to creating more coherent, accessible, and person-centered rehabilitation close to residents. This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants to take clear professional leadership and be part of influencing the development of future municipal health and medical care.
In this role, you are responsible for developing, following up, and ensuring quality and patient safety within rehabilitation activities. You work on developing, revising, and following up procedures and working methods, and serve as expert support to managers and staff. The assignment also includes overall follow-up and analysis of deviations, medical record review, handling of Lex Maria reports, and driving systematic improvement work based on results and identified development areas.
You lead and participate in development and training initiatives, represent the municipalities in various forums and networks, and participate in work with contracts and contract follow-up. An important part of the assignment is to collaborate both within and between municipalities and with the region and other MAS and MAR functions in the county.
The position involves varied and independent work with great opportunity to influence content and working methods. Since the assignment covers several municipalities, travel between activities will occur. At the same time, there are good opportunities for flexible and digital work when operations allow.
YOUR PROFILE
We believe in the right competence in the right place.
We are looking for someone who is a licensed physiotherapist or occupational therapist and who has extensive experience working in primary care or municipal health and medical care. You have a strong commitment to quality development, patient safety, and systematic improvement work. You are accustomed to working digitally and feel confident handling both administrative tasks and collaboration with various professions, activities, and organizations.
As a person, you are independent, structured, and accustomed to planning and driving your work with great freedom under responsibility. You have good analytical abilities and can see both the big picture and details. You are confident in your profession and have the integrity to ask questions, raise risks, and question when necessary to ensure quality and patient safety.
You easily build trusting relationships and communicate clearly and professionally in both speech and writing in Swedish. For this position, a class B driver's license is required as travel is part of the assignment. We work in a values-driven manner in all municipalities and want your treatment and actions to align with our well-established collaboration, values, and vision.
