As a waste collection assistant, you work together with the driver and are an important part of daily waste management. The work is physical and suits you if you thrive with a high work pace, varying work environments, and working outdoors.
Job Description
As a waste collection assistant, you work in connection with waste collection and help with practical tasks along established routes.
The role includes, among other things:
handling and moving waste containers and bins
riding in the garbage truck and working along established routes
jumping in and out of the vehicle repeatedly during the work shift
working safely in traffic-adjacent environments
following instructions, schedules, and safety procedures
working closely with the driver and other colleagues
reporting risks, deviations, and incidents
working outdoors in varying weather conditions
The work is physically demanding and involves repeated movement, lifting, and moving of containers. It is therefore important that you have good physical ability and enjoy active work.

have reached 18 years of age
can speak, read, and understand Swedish
have good physical ability and can handle active and sometimes heavy work
can follow instructions, safety procedures, and occupational health requirements
are punctual, responsible, and reliable
enjoy working outdoors
can work in environments with traffic, vehicles, and moving people
have good teamwork skills and professional demeanor
are flexible and can adapt to the company's needs
Previous experience in sanitation, warehousing, transport, construction, logistics, or other physical work is meriting, but we also place great emphasis on your attitude, work ethic, and ability to collaborate. General requirements include good physical ability, the ability to follow safety instructions, and the ability to work in environments with ongoing traffic and operations.
Other Information
This is a consulting assignment where you are employed by Miljonbemanning and work with our client in Uddevalla and surrounding areas.
Working hours may vary based on operational needs, and work may occur on weekdays as well as weekends. Flexibility and the ability to work with short notice may therefore be an important part of the assignment.
Work in sanitation is physically demanding. Before the assignment starts, a mandatory new employee health screening is conducted, including alcohol and drug testing. For sanitation workers, movement and strength testing are also included.
