About the position
Professionals Nord is seeking, in collaboration with our client, several Mechanical Design Engineers for their operation in Västerås. The company is a global player in advanced technology and automation and is in an expansive phase with great focus on future technology and AI-driven solutions.
The department is responsible for developing complex mechanical designs where teams work with both new development and improvement of existing products. Here mechanical systems, integration of motors and gears, as well as solutions for moving cable systems and other technically advanced components are developed.
In the role you work in development projects with a focus on mechanical design in SolidWorks. Projects vary in scope and complexity, and you will become part of a team where collaboration, technical excellence, and own drive are highly valued.
The position is structured so that you will be employed as a consultant at Professionals Nord, with an assignment for our client on an indefinite basis. All questions regarding the position are answered by [email protected].

Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will:
Work with mechanical design and product development in SolidWorks
Participate in development projects related to both new and existing products
Develop and optimize solutions for moving mechanical designs
Work with integration of components such as gears, motors, and cable systems
Work in SAP PLM system for documentation and management of designs
Collaborate closely with other designers, calculation engineers, and cross-functional teams
Participate in problem-solving and improvement work related to technical challenges
We are looking for you who
Have several years of experience in mechanical design
Have very good knowledge of SolidWorks
Have experience designing moving mechanical components
Speak and write fluent Swedish and English
Are self-driven and enjoy collaborating with others
It is a merit if you have
Experience with SAP or other PLM systems
Experience from development-intensive operations or R&D environments
Knowledge in areas such as gears, casting, and machining
Experience working on complex development projects
