Your Assignment
You will join the Technology Division, where you will work with some of the agency's important systems for collecting signals transmitted over the air.
As an algorithm developer, you will be part of a team developing software in the field of digital signal processing and decoder technology. Implementation is primarily done in C/C++ and Python. The work is characterized by attempting to interpret incomplete data, where we need to build knowledge from a continuous flow of new knowledge fragments from reality. You contribute to continuous improvement through monitoring and analysis of shortcomings and opportunities.
Your team and a handful of others work very closely together and have shared responsibility for a set of systems, which provides good opportunities for both specialization and broadening your skills. We prioritize collaboration and a holistic perspective, not rigid boundaries. Because we have full responsibility for our own custom-developed systems, we can also explore and implement our own ideas about how to move the business forward.
Travel may occur in the role.
Your Skills
We are looking for someone with:
· Master's degree in Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics, or equivalent knowledge in mathematical subjects through other education or several years of work experience in the field.
· Strong programming skills in a high-level language
· Strong knowledge of Swedish and English
We consider it a merit if you have:
· Experience or education in digital signal processing
· Knowledge in abstract algebra or coding theory
· Knowledge in machine learning
· Knowledge in radio communication
· Several years of experience programming in C/C++
· Experience programming in Matlab
· Research education in a relevant field
· Experience with Linux-based development environments
· Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or SAFe

The workplace is located near Drottningholm, approximately 10 minutes from Brommaplan. Swedish citizenship is required as employment at FRA involves security clearance classification. Before employment, you will be security vetted in accordance with the provisions of the Security Protection Act. Employment entails an obligation to be placed on the wartime roster.
