The Penitentiary Administration is a state administration institution under the Ministry of Justice that implements state policy in the field of detention as a security measure and execution of criminal sentences involving deprivation of liberty.

Requirements for candidates:
First level professional higher education in healthcare and general care nurse qualification;
Registration in the Medical Professionals Register;
Latvian language proficiency at level C1;
Health status and psychological characteristics meeting the requirements established by the Cabinet of Ministers (Cabinet Regulation No. 219 of March 10, 2009 "Procedure for Mandatory Health Examination");
Good communication skills;
Ability to work both as a team member and independently;
High sense of responsibility, precision, analytical thinking, ability to work in high-intensity conditions;
Ability to prepare medical documentation qualitatively and in accordance with requirements.

Compensation for purchase of special medically prescribed optical vision correction devices up to 100.00 EUR.
