Meal Service needs to strengthen its personnel pool with meal service assistants. Meal Service prepares and serves approximately 7,000 meals every day to preschools, primary schools, secondary schools, elderly care, home care services, and daily activity centers. We also manage the café operations in the city hall where we serve breakfast and lunch to the city's employees and visitors. In addition to daily operations, we handle catering orders and arrange, among other things, the city's popular Christmas buffet for employees. We always strive to choose the best raw materials and create meals that are nutritious, delicious, sustainable, pleasant, inclusive, and safe. Our work is based on the Swedish Food Agency's meal model and the city's meal policy. Through active food safety work, we ensure that we comply with food legislation and work systematically with quality and safety. We also continuously work to reduce our climate impact by increasing the proportion of vegetables and reducing the use of food with high climate impact in accordance with national recommendations. In our personnel pool there are four chefs and four meal service assistants who replace our kitchen staff when someone is absent. Now we need to strengthen the team with more meal service assistants. As a meal service assistant with us, you work together with chefs and other meal service assistants in one of our kitchens. You contribute to ensuring that our meals maintain high quality and that the kitchen runs smoothly through close collaboration with your colleagues. The assignment includes common tasks in a large kitchen, such as salad preparation, goods receipt and unpacking, ordering, food safety checks, dishwashing, and cleaning and sanitation. You may also help the chefs with simple cooking and other kitchen tasks. You have a base kitchen that is your regular workplace. When needed, you replace a colleague during absences and receive notice the same morning or the day before. You may be placed in the same kitchen for one or more days, depending on operational needs. In this position we use, among other things, systems for food safety checks and waste measurement, and you need to be able to access information and instructions communicated via email and Teams. As a person, you are self-directed, responsible, and enjoy working both independently and with others. You find it easy to collaborate and contribute to a positive work environment. For you, order and cleanliness are a natural part of the work. You speak and write Swedish fluently without hindrance. You have a professional approach towards both colleagues and our meal guests. Working hours are daytime Monday - Friday, 7:00–15:30 with a 30-minute lunch break. Salary by agreement. Start date by agreement. A probationary period of six months may be applied.
