Recreation center activities are more than just a place for activities – it's a place where young people receive support, are seen and heard. We are now seeking engaged recreation leaders for Rosengård tegelhuset, Holma, and Hyllie recreation centers! Current positions include permanent employment as well as time-limited employment. Job Responsibilities As a recreation leader, you create safe, inclusive, and inspiring recreation center activities where children and young people can develop, feel community, and influence their leisure time. With a coaching approach, you support and inspire young people to be creative, take initiative, and grow, while being a professional role model and setting secure boundaries. You meet young people's needs – both those they express themselves and those you identify as a recreation leader – and adapt activities to enable both planned and spontaneous activities where young people's participation and influence are in focus. The work takes place in close collaboration with schools, guardians, police, social services, and other local actors. You also collaborate with other recreation centers and meeting places on events and holiday activities, where together you create safe and positive environments for children and young people. Your base is at the recreation center, with activities that also extend into the local neighborhood to meet and build relationships with young people where they are. You participate in all tasks at the workplace, including planning, implementation, and follow-up. Some ongoing administration and documentation occurs. As a recreation leader, you work with children and young people during their leisure time. This means your schedule includes regular daytime, evening, and weekend shifts. Qualifications We are seeking someone who: Has a recreation leader degree from a folk high school or other relevant post-secondary education combined with experience working with our target group (young people in grades 6-upper secondary school) Other relevant post-secondary education could include pedagogy, social work, or social science, such as recreation pedagogue, social worker, social pedagogue, teacher, criminology, sociology, gender studies, sports science, international relations, or human rights Has good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written Meritorious: Experience with area-based work Documented knowledge of norm criticism, gender equality, and youth participation Experience with outreach work Experience working with the recreation center's target group Have been engaged as a volunteer in some activity or organization Personal Competencies: As a person, you are social, confident, stable, and responsible with a good ability to collaborate and build relationships. You are flexible and adapt easily to change, while maintaining focus and calm even in challenging situations. You are creative and innovative, see opportunities, and contribute ideas that develop the activities. You have a high degree of personal maturity, are receptive, and show respect in your interactions with both young people and colleagues. With your relationship-building and solution-oriented abilities, you contribute to a positive and safe environment.
