We are now seeking an experienced payroll consultant who wants to help ensure correct payroll management for approximately 12,000 employees while contributing to the development of future payroll administration. Together, we are responsible for payroll management for the municipalities of Kristinehamn, Filipstad, Degerfors, Karlskoga, and Storfors, municipal companies, and Bergslagens räddningstjänst. As part of the HR department within the municipal administration office, you contribute to creating efficient processes and important support for the municipality's operations. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a payroll consultant, you are responsible for ensuring correct and efficient payroll management and providing qualified support to managers and employees on payroll-related matters. The role involves independent responsibility for the entire payroll process, from registration and quality checks to payroll processing, reconciliations, and follow-up work. You work closely with operations and handle matters related to collective agreements, legislation, and payroll-related processes. The work includes, among other things: • Administering and quality assuring payroll data. • Performing payroll runs and follow-up checks. • Interpreting and applying collective agreements and applicable regulations. • Providing support and advice to managers and employees. • Writing employment certificates and other documents. • Collaborating with authorities and external partners. • Contributing to development and quality assurance of our payroll processes. QUALIFICATIONS Requirements: • Post-secondary education in payroll, finance, HR/personnel, or other education and experience that the employer deems equivalent. • Several years of experience with independent payroll work. • Good knowledge of the entire payroll process, from payroll data to payroll processing and follow-up work. • Experience interpreting and applying collective agreements and employment law rules in payroll management. • Good system proficiency and ability to quickly learn new systems and digital work methods. • Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. It is advantageous if you have experience with Visma Personec S, payroll work within municipal or other public sector activities, municipal collective agreements, large payroll volumes and complex payroll processes, and development and quality assurance of payroll processes. Previous experience providing support and advice to managers and employees on payroll matters is also advantageous. To succeed in this role, you are thorough, structured, and quality-conscious with the ability to plan and prioritize your work, even when the pace is high. You work independently, take responsibility for your tasks, and ensure that deadlines are met. You are service-oriented and communicative with professional conduct, while also having a natural ability to collaborate and build good relationships. As a person, you are also analytical and solution-oriented, with the ability to identify deviations and find sustainable solutions to complex payroll matters.
