Birgittaskolan in Örebro offers bilingual instruction in a sign language environment for students from preschool through grade 10. Our students receive instruction in both Swedish Sign Language and written Swedish. We offer accommodation for students who cannot commute to school daily. Birgittaskolan is a state special school for students who are deaf or have hearing impairments. The school is located in Örebro and admits students from Dalarna, Södermanland, Värmland, Västmanland, Örebro, and Östergötland counties. We offer our students an environment that provides opportunities for participation and development. Everyone can participate in social interaction, feel a sense of belonging, and develop as individuals in a bilingual education in a sign language environment. At Birgittaskolan, we have excellent access to various professionals in our student support team and digital learning tools in a well-equipped IT environment. JOB DUTIES Birgittaskolan and Åsbackaskolan are looking for a temporary substitute for facilities maintenance. As a facilities maintenance worker, you will handle the daily maintenance of Birgittaskolan and Åsbackaskolan, which consists of educational, meeting, and office spaces, as well as common areas. Your main responsibilities will be general facilities maintenance tasks in all spaces and areas, and of course providing the best service. When needed, some kitchen tasks may also occur. This position is temporary. Assignment may also occur at other special schools in Örebro. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who has: • at least 1 year of experience and knowledge of facilities maintenance work in a school setting or equivalent as assessed by the employer • interest in learning sign language It is advantageous if you have: • experience with SPSM's target group • experience meeting students with various disabilities in your daily work • experience working in state operations • knowledge of Swedish Sign Language We value that you: • are driven, self-directed, organized, and have an eye for what needs to be done • are unpretentious and service-oriented • have good prioritization skills • have good knowledge of Microsoft Office • have good ability to express yourself in written Swedish • take great responsibility for independent work We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
