The Red Cross is the world's largest humanitarian movement and operates in 191 countries. When disaster strikes, we are already on the ground helping vulnerable people, not least thanks to 16 million volunteers. Swedish Red Cross runs operations within crisis and disaster, protection issues, as well as health and care. We have the trust to convert contributions from individuals, companies, and authorities into concrete efforts for the most vulnerable. We fight to save lives and give hope, everywhere and every day. Regardless of which role you work in, you are part of it and contribute—in your specific profession and through decisive action and courage. Welcome to our world! About Us The Red Cross Treatment Center is a unique resource in the healthcare context by being entirely focused on treatment for migrants suffering from severe mental health issues related to war, flight, persecution, or torture. Many of the patients have themselves been exposed to war- and flight-related violence, abuse, and threats, while others have been traumatized by witnessing how loved ones have been affected. Swedish Red Cross operates treatment centers for war-injured and tortured individuals at six locations in Sweden: Skövde, Uppsala, Gothenburg, Malmö, and Skellefteå. The goal of Swedish Red Cross treatment centers is to provide support and care to people who have been exposed to war trauma and torture so they can regain their psychological and physical health. In addition to clinical treatment work, we work to spread knowledge by offering training and information to various target groups, both externally and internally.
