We are now seeking an additional Legal Counsel for the bank's corporate legal department. ABOUT THE ROLE As a Legal Counsel focused on transaction law, you will work on legal matters and project management related to the bank's acquisitions, disposals, investments, and other strategic transactions. The role includes, among other things, purchase and sale of loan portfolios, acquisitions of companies and businesses, structured deals, and other business initiatives where legal matters are a central part of implementation. You will have a central role throughout the entire lifecycle of transaction processes and work closely with large parts of the bank, including management, business areas, finance, compliance, risk, operations, IT, treasury, and external advisors. As part of the role, you will also participate in other legal work within the corporate legal department, such as assisting the bank's business areas and operational functions with contract preparation, contract reviews, negotiations, and other legal advice and navigation within the regulatory landscape in which the bank operates. In your work, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating transaction processes, negotiating transaction agreements and associated documentation, and handling legal matters related to acquisitions within regulated activities. Both in relation to project management and other tasks, you will ensure that relevant legal aspects are identified, analyzed, and managed, and develop and ensure that decision-making materials, contract documentation, and implementation maintain high quality. The work involves both strategic assessments and practical handling of complex legal matters in close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external parties. You will become part of the bank's engaged corporate legal team consisting of 10 competent colleagues and will report to the General Counsel. The position is located at Norion Bank's offices in Gothenburg or Stockholm. ABOUT YOU We are looking for someone with a law degree (juris kandidat/equivalent) and at least three years of professional experience as a lawyer in M&A, financing, and transaction processes, preferably from a law firm and/or bank. You have good knowledge of corporate law, contract law, and preferably also finance law. You are comfortable taking the lead in your work and are an experienced project manager. Experience from a bank or other regulated business is a merit. As a person, you are business-oriented and communicative. You are thorough, structured, and efficient in your work approach. You have strong collaboration skills and enjoy taking a comprehensive approach to the bank's transactions from start to finish. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
