With automated bedding and feeding systems as well as transponder-controlled feeding of sows, we operate an efficient and sustainable production. We have approximately 1,800 sows and produce around 60,000 piglets per year. With us, approximately 20 employees work divided into three different teams. We care about both the animals' welfare and our employees' work environment. The company is owned by four committed pork producers who are actively involved in the operations. We are now looking for an experienced animal handler who wants to combine practical work with leadership responsibility and help develop our semen department. About the Role As an experienced animal handler with leadership responsibility, you are a key person in our semen department. You are the link between the operations manager and the staff, and you are responsible for planning, distributing, and following up on daily work. The role is both operational and managerial. You work daily as an animal handler alongside your colleagues and participate in all of the department's tasks. At the same time, you are responsible for creating structure, supporting the team, and ensuring that routines are followed, that animal welfare is maintained at the highest level, and that the department reaches its goals. You lead by being present in the daily work and setting a good example. What the Job Involves In addition to working practically as an animal handler, you are responsible for: Leading and distributing daily work in the semen department. Ensuring that the department's routines are implemented as planned. Making sure that staff are engaged and aware of today's tasks. Having overall responsibility for animals under treatment and animals requiring extra supervision. Responsibility for documentation in WinPig. Responsibility for the department's breeding work. Introducing and mentoring new employees together with the operations manager. Cooperating with other departments to create good collaboration throughout the operation. Contributing to the development of routines, work methods, and department results. Your Profile To succeed in this role, we see that you have several years of experience in pig production and a good understanding of daily work in a modern pig operation. You have a genuine interest in animal welfare, are confident in your work, and enjoy taking responsibility. You have a natural ability to create engagement, support your colleagues, and contribute to a positive work climate. We would like to see that you have: Several years of experience working in pig production. Experience with semen and breeding work. Previous experience in a supervisory role, such as group leader, team leader, or supervisor. Good computer skills and preferably experience with WinPig or similar production systems. Ability to plan, prioritize, and make decisions in daily work. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
