Senior WMS/WCS Engineer

ICA is undertaking a comprehensive modernization of its logistics systems with significantly increased automation and new WMS/WCS platforms. We are now seeking a senior specialist who wants to take a key role in designing, developing, and managing our material flow systems.
About the role
As a Senior WMS/WCS Engineer, you will work at the intersection of IT, automation, and operations. You are responsible for the architecture, integration, and further development of business-critical systems that control our automated flows.
The role is both strategic and operational – you set direction, but are also closely involved with the systems in operation.
Responsibilities and tasks
Be the technical expert and architect for WMS/WCS
Responsible for solution design and integration between WMS, WCS, PLC, and other systems
Participate in new construction and rebuild projects of automated flows
Drive maintenance, development, and version management of systems
Troubleshoot and analyze complex problems in the operating environment
Ensure high availability, performance, and robustness
Contribute to technical standards and target architecture
About the team
You will become part of technology and automation development and work closely with engineers, developers, operations, and maintenance.
This is a senior specialist role where you function as a technical reference and mentor for others.
We are looking for someone who has
Civil engineering or engineering degree in a relevant field
At least 8–10 years of experience with WMS/WCS in automated environments
Experience in system design, integration, and system management
Good understanding of material flows, real-time systems, and control strategies
Experience integrating with PLC, WMS, ERP, and IT systems
Strong analytical ability and experience troubleshooting complex systems
Meritorious
Experience from highly automated logistics centers
Knowledge of OT security
Experience with APIs, microservices, and modern architectures
Programming experience (e.g., Java, C#, Python)
Experience with DevOps-like approaches
