In this assignment, you'll join as a consultant via Asta Agency and work operatively at the company. The assignment initially extends through the end of the year, with good opportunities for extension. About the Role As Lead Data Engineer, you'll take on a central technical role in a comprehensive modernization initiative within BI and Data Warehouse. You'll come in early in the project and work from discovery and analysis through technical decisions and initial implementation. An important part of the assignment is to develop a deep understanding of the existing data warehouse, data flows, integrations, and dependencies. Based on this, you'll help shape the future solution and modernize today's data environment toward a more scalable and sustainable platform. This is a role for someone who combines technical depth with the ability to see the big picture. You'll remain hands-on in development while also functioning as a technical leader and knowledgeable sounding board on matters concerning architecture, data modeling, and platform selection. You'll work closely with architects, BI developers, business experts, and other Data Engineers. The role also includes creating structure in technical work and supporting and mentoring less experienced colleagues. Qualifications and Attributes We're seeking a senior Data Engineer who has worked in complex data environments and is comfortable taking on broad technical responsibility. You can quickly get up to speed on existing solutions, identify risks and dependencies, and translate analysis into actionable technical decisions. You're comfortable in an advisory and leadership role while enjoying being close to the technology and actively contributing to implementation. Additionally, you have: Deep expertise in SQL Server, T-SQL, and SSIS Experience analyzing and modernizing complex data warehouses and data flows Experience with at least one modern data platform, such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Databricks, or Snowflake Very strong understanding of data modeling, architecture, and technical dependencies Experience with CI/CD, Git, and structured technical documentation Ability to drive technical decisions and translate them into practical implementation Experience mentoring and supporting other Data Engineers Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English It's a plus if you also have experience with: dbt, SSAS, SSRS, or Power BI Purview, Unity Catalog, or DataHub Data governance, metadata management, and information security Data environments in areas such as retail, supply chain, finance, or HR Other Information Start: Immediate Location: Solna, with opportunity for hybrid work Scope: Full-time Salary: According to agreement We conduct ongoing selection in this process, which means the position may be filled before the final application deadline.
