Rescue Service (BRT) is a municipal association in Eastern Värmland between Degerfors, Filipstad, Hällefors, Karlskoga, Kristinehamn and Storfors municipalities with approximately 200 employees and 8 fire stations.
The Emergency Dispatch Center's operations in its current form began in 1997. Today we receive various types of technical alarms such as fire, burglary, operational, elevator alarms and security alarms from all six member municipalities within the association. We forward calls to municipal on-call services and we also staff the association's telephone exchange.
We are now seeking dedicated part-time substitutes who want to work on an as-needed basis in our emergency dispatch center.
About the Position
As a dispatch operator you work in an essential community service where you receive and handle incoming alarms and calls. The work requires that you can act calmly, professionally and in a structured manner even in stressful situations.
Main responsibilities:
Working as a dispatch operator in our emergency dispatch center involves:
Answering municipalities' security alarms
Handling incoming alarms such as automatic fire alarms, burglary alarms and operational alarms
Forwarding information and contact to municipal on-call services and other functions
Performing administrative tasks related to the emergency dispatch center's operations
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
Has another main occupation (studies, part-time work or own business)
Is seeking long-term supplementary work on the side
Has good availability and can step in with short notice
Is flexible and appreciates varying work hours
Is stress-tolerant and service-oriented
Speaks and writes Swedish fluently
Has a couple of years of work experience
Is accustomed to working with computers and multiple systems simultaneously
Has a high school diploma
Holds a Class B driver's license

Be able to gather and convey information clearly and effectively even under time pressure

Terms of Employment
Employment type: As-needed employment
Work hours: Shift work day, evening, weekends and night. The emergency dispatch center is staffed 24/7, year-round.
