As an alarm and dispatch operator, you will handle incidents from our member municipalities such as burglary alarms, assault alarms, and camera surveillance services. About the Role At the Emergency Services Center East, we operate two services: an alarm center for municipal security and an alarm and dispatch center for emergency services. In your role, you may work within both areas. Municipal Security You handle incoming alarms and calls related to burglary alarms, fire alarms, personal alarms, and elevator alarms. Another important part is camera surveillance and management of various on-call duties. You have regular contact with security guards, facility managers, and other contact persons and help maintain safety and security in our member municipalities. Alarm and Dispatch Center You receive alarms from SOS Alarm and are responsible for dispatching and supporting the management of emergency units from our fire stations. During emergency operations, you work closely with duty commanders, incident commanders, police, ambulance services, and other actors to provide the best possible support to those affected. For the right person, there is an opportunity to develop toward the role of Communication and Dispatch Operator (SOL), an advanced operational function linked to command and control work. Emergency Services Center East The Emergency Services Center East is staffed 24/7, year-round by alarm and dispatch operators and duty commanders. We are part of the Södertörn Fire Defense Association and dispatch and manage emergency services in 16 municipalities. Annually we handle approximately 55,000 municipal alarms, 50,000 telephone calls, and 12,000 emergency incidents. Södertörn Fire Defense Association The Södertörn Fire Defense Association is responsible for emergency services and municipal security services for residents and visitors in Botkyrka, Ekerö, Haninge, Huddinge, Nykvarn, Nynäshamn, Salem, Södertälje, and Tyresö. Our mission is to contribute to those in our municipalities feeling safe and secure. Terms of Employment We offer a permanent full-time position starting by agreement. A probationary period may be applied. The position is located at Fire Station Lindvreten in Vårby gård/Kungens kurva. The work involves two-shift scheduling (day, night, weekends, and public holidays) according to a rotating schedule. The position is classified as security level 3, and security clearance is conducted before employment, which includes criminal record checks, security awareness training, and security interviews.
