Teacher Substitute in Math, English and Science at Sommarhemsskolan grades 7-9 About the job Would you like to help create safe, clear and meaningful instruction for middle school students? We are now seeking a teacher substitute in mathematics, English and/or Science at Sommarhemsskolan grades 7-9 in Uddevalla. With us, you will become an important part of a school focused on safety, study environment and increased achievement. Sommarhemsskolan has engaged staff, functioning work teams and a student support team that works closely with educators. We work towards a school culture where students are met with clear expectations, good relationships and instruction that gives them the opportunity to develop both academically and socially. The school also works with IBIS, Inclusive Behavior Support in Schools, to support work with safe and positive learning environments. Responsibilities Teach mathematics, English and/or Science in grades 7–9. Plan, implement and follow up on instruction in accordance with current curriculum standards. Create clear and structured lessons where students have the opportunity to succeed. Collaborate with subject colleagues, work teams and student support regarding student learning and development. We are looking for you who Are confident and clear in interactions with young people and create good relationships through a professional adult role. Are organized, which you demonstrate by planning instruction with a clear beginning, direction and conclusion. Have a good ability to lead students and create a productive work environment in instructional situations. Can meet students based on different needs and circumstances. Enjoy collaborating and contributing positively to the work team's and school's common efforts. We are looking for someone who wants to make a difference for students and who sees the value of relationships, clarity and high expectations in instruction. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability. Qualifications We are looking for you who have: Strong subject knowledge in mathematics, English and/or Science. Experience working with children and young people. Good ability to lead students in instructional situations. It is advantageous if you are currently in teacher training, have teacher certification or previous experience teaching at the middle school level. It is also advantageous if you have experience with accommodations, special support or instruction in an inclusive learning environment. Other The position is a substitute or fixed-term employment.
