About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Learning Center is a national organization where the Adult Education section provides education for clients of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service. At each prison in the country and certain remand facilities, there are one or more learning centers where teachers provide instruction at upper secondary and upper secondary school levels, equivalent to municipal adult education, as well as Swedish language education for immigrants. Adult education is nationally coordinated and organized so that studies function regardless of which facility a client is placed in and even if they are transferred during their studies. Job Description Clients who need education can apply or be referred to apply for adult education. Teaching is individualized and takes place at the Learning Center. As a teacher within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, you work in three functions. You teach your students at the Åby facility in the learning center's facilities, and you will also support students as a pedagogical mentor for those who have their subject teacher online through the agency. In addition, you also teach students online who are studying at other facilities, but all work takes place on-site at the facility. This means that in your role you have continuous contact and collaboration with teachers and colleagues throughout the country. Qualifications In your role as a teacher, you are a skilled educator with the desire and ability to motivate, inspire, and lead students to achieve their goals. You are clear and engaged in your work and have strong ability to create structure and systematicity. Work is conducted both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues, which is why good collaboration and initiative skills are important traits, as well as the ability to work independently. We are looking for someone who has: Upper secondary school teacher degree and teacher certification with subject authorization in one or more of the following subjects: Business Economics, Natural Science, Mathematics preferably in combination with chemistry/physics. Experience working in educational activities in upper secondary school and/or adult education Ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish Good computer skills and experience working with digital support systems It is also an advantage to have: Experience teaching in adult education/Komvux Experience with distance teaching Please attach your teacher certification with authorization list to your application.
