Within Höglandsförbundet is also Högland's educational collaboration, which currently consists of Höglandsgymnasiet with schools in Eksjö, Nässjö, Sävsjö, and Vetlanda. In total, we are approximately 550 employees working to ensure that our approximately 3,000 students receive high-quality education that prepares them for the future in working life or further studies. Your New Role We are seeking a senior secondary teacher to teach program-specific courses within the economics program, where you will teach subjects including business economics and law. As part of your role, you are expected to help drive the economics program at Aleholm together with your engaged colleagues. You will also participate in the subject team within Höglandsgymnasiet to further develop subject instruction. Collaboration and joint planning occur continuously with colleagues in your work team and subject team. We strive to gain a holistic view of students' knowledge development and needs. Meeting each student from a relational perspective and having high, reasonable expectations for each individual is fundamental to us. The position does not currently include the role of mentor, but teaching staff also work closely with student services and the principal at our school to support student development and goal achievement. Your work will be an important part of helping students grow and succeed. About You We seek someone with a strong ability to structure, plan, and prioritize your work. You take responsibility for your own planning and drive your teaching forward in accordance with the curriculum and other governing documents. At the same time, you work easily with your colleagues on matters of subject development, student initiatives, and other issues that require all school functions to work as a team. You create and maintain good relationships, communicate clearly, and have the ability to adapt your message based on your audience and where they are in their own development. Our school brings together many different cultures, so it is important that you thrive in a multicultural environment. We want you to have a teaching degree with qualifications to teach at the senior secondary level in business economics and/or law, or similar subjects. It is an advantage if you are also qualified in other subjects such as mathematics, natural sciences, Swedish, or Swedish as a second language. Previous experience working as a senior secondary teacher and teaching business economics and/or law is an advantage. Even if you only have one of these subjects, we encourage you to apply, as the position's focus may change depending on your qualifications. Interviews will be held on an ongoing basis starting before the final application deadline, so do not delay submitting your application. The earliest start date is September 15, but there is flexibility to start later. The economics program at our school is being phased out. Therefore, we believe this could be a good position for you if you are at the end of your career or at the beginning of it. With additional subject qualifications, there are good opportunities to continue as a teacher with us even after the program concludes. To ensure that all new staff in our teaching positions have the correct qualifications, we ask you to attach a valid teaching credential obtained from Skolverket that is no more than two months old. As a final candidate in the recruitment process, it is a requirement, in accordance with the Education Act, that you provide a certificate from the criminal record register for work within schools. You request this record excerpt from the police website. If you are called for an interview, you will need to be able to verify your citizenship. You do this by presenting a valid passport or a certificate of citizenship together with a valid form of ID. A certificate of citizenship is ordered from the Swedish Tax Agency under My Pages. If you are a citizen of a country outside the EU/EEA/Switzerland, you must also be able to present a valid residence and/or work permit to work in Sweden.
