At our special education school, we work to create a safe and inspiring environment where students thrive and want to learn. Teaching is adapted to each student's circumstances to strengthen their learning and confidence in their own abilities. Education provides important knowledge and values, promotes personal development and social community, and prepares students for active participation in society.
We are now seeking two teachers for special education school with special educator training specializing in subjects and intellectual disabilities. The positions are located at Solängsskolan (grades 1-3) and Stora Sätraskolan (grades 7-9). These are part-time positions—one in music and one in crafts, preferably combined with another subject such as physical education. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Are you interested in helping create a positive and supportive learning environment for students? Great! Do you want to contribute to an inclusive and developmental future for them? Then you could be the special educator we're looking for. Your work includes collaborating with colleagues to create a school where everyone feels safe and valued as students, guardians, and staff. In teaching, you collaborate with other resources such as preschool teachers, after-school care teachers, and student assistants. You help shape a good, engaging, and varied school day with students' best interests in focus. Work is also conducted in collaboration with student support services, guardians, and other actors outside the school.
Your responsibilities include, among other things:
• Planning and teaching, assessment in special education with a subject specialization.
• Responsibility for mapping, implementation, and evaluation of activities according to established goals and guidelines.
• Using your expertise to challenge and support students so they achieve good academic results and adapting your teaching based on all students' needs and circumstances.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who:
• Have teacher certification for grades 1-3 or 4-6 in music and/or crafts and preferably one more subject such as physical education, plus further training as a special educator specializing in intellectual disabilities and subjects.
• Have good knowledge of working with digital tools such as documentation in Unikum or Office and are experienced using computers/tablets as a pedagogical tool.
• Are familiar with and knowledgeable about the curriculum for special education schools.
• Have the ability to express yourself well in Swedish both verbally and in writing.
It is desirable if you have experience working in special education schools and in the following areas: intellectual disabilities, multiple disabilities, neuropsychiatric disabilities, physical disabilities, vision and hearing impairments. Previous experience with AAC (augmentative and alternative communication), sign language, and low-stimulus approach is also valuable for this position.
To succeed in this role, you:
• Have a genuine interest in working with students with different needs and abilities. You see possibilities in creating working solutions for each student's needs and are good at continuously evaluating and improving teaching methods and student progress.
• Have a talent for leading and motivating students and helping them feel good and enjoy themselves. You have a strong ability to build trusting relationships and help students feel safe, belonging, and included.
• As a candidate, demonstrate clear classroom leadership, are objective and structured, and work toward good relationships with both students and guardians.
• Work well in collaboration with others and adapt to different situations while being able to change your perspective and approach. As a person, you have the ability to convey calm and stability.
• Possess creativity and the ability to create and think innovatively.
As a final candidate, you must be able to present a background check from the police for work in schools or preschools. This should not be attached to your application.
Interviews will be held during weeks 33-34.
Employment type: Permanent employment.
Duration: Permanent, start date: During fall semester 2026 by agreement.
