Your responsibilities
As a teacher, your starting point is to work with instruction, evaluation, and values-based education based on the curriculum. The work is sometimes independent but usually in close collaboration with colleagues. All instruction at the Acute School takes place in smaller teaching groups with close collaboration with colleagues. We accept students from grades 4-9, and most of our students are in grades 7-9. You will therefore primarily teach at the secondary level, but instruction may also occur at the intermediate level.
As a teacher, you see the student's entire school day as important and therefore collaborate with guardians, colleagues, and other community contacts around the student. You start from the student group you meet and work with the planning that each student brings from their regular school. Based on that planning, you create adapted and challenging instruction where you support the student pedagogically and socially in their schooling. Instruction primarily covers all core subjects. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching.
You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection during both planned and spontaneous occasions. To support student learning, as well as your own and the organization's development, you draw on the experience and knowledge of different professionals.
Your workplace
The Acute School provides temporary placement for students in grades 4-9. We accept students who are under disciplinary measures and in need of extra support, both socially and pedagogically. Here we accept students for up to four weeks, which means a varied workday where you implement adapted instruction in a smaller setting.
The Acute School, which is part of Linköping Municipality's special education and support services, conducts its operations in smaller groups with high staff density, where students also have the opportunity to practice social interaction. Students meet clear, safe, and stable adults. We work closely with students and respond to their individual needs.

About you
First and foremost, we are looking for you with a teaching license with certification to teach mathematics and science in grades 7-9. Second, we are looking for you with completed teacher education for grades 7-9. Alternatively, you are nearing the end of your education to become a teacher for grades 7-9. It is advantageous if you have certification to teach mathematics, English, or science in grades 4-9 or have certification in other core subjects in grades 4-9.
It is a requirement that you have experience working in a curriculum-based school through internship or as an employee. It is advantageous if you have taught in grades 7-9 for at least one school year. Furthermore, it is advantageous if you have worked in a special instruction group.
In your role as a teacher at the Acute School, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well familiar with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other governing documents. You have good communication skills in speech and writing in Swedish. This is because, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), you must organize and conduct work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.
As a teacher at the Acute School, you actively create good relationships with those you meet in your professional role. You create inclusion for students and treat them based on their individual circumstances. As a teacher, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your instruction to the students and let them participate in designing the instruction. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for student development and learning and document it. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in society that appear in your professional role.
