Dormsjöskolan is a small school with fantastic conditions. About twenty students from different parts of the country live and study here, primarily residing at our adjacent residential care facility. Some students also commute to and from school daily from the surrounding area. We conduct instruction in very small groups across three school forms: primary school, adapted primary school, and adapted upper secondary school. Many of our students have one or more diagnoses within the autism/ADHD spectrum, which we address through individualized instruction that few other schools are able to offer. The school has a very high staff-to-student ratio, and we work in small groups or with individual instruction in a school environment adapted to students' needs.
Dormsjöskolan is located in a beautiful natural setting by a lake, a short distance from Garpenberg. The school is owned by a non-profit foundation that has operated at this location for over 60 years. We are well-equipped with our own sports hall, blacksmith workshop, music room, auditorium, and gym.
It is the less visible conditions that truly form the school's strength. Here, every student experiences the security and structure they need. Here, every student is seen and heard by staff who are there for the students' sake.
You will work as a teacher in a team with diverse backgrounds and qualifications, but with a shared goal: care for our students. We maintain frequent contact with each other through daily morning meetings and short communication lines. Because we are a very well-staffed school, you need to be comfortable with other staff members often being present during your instruction. As a staff member, you also have close contact with the staff at the five affiliated residential care facilities located on the grounds.
QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered for this position, we see that you:
• Hold teacher certification and full qualification in the relevant subjects
• Have previous experience working as a teacher
