Your responsibilities The role involves planning, implementing, evaluating, and developing instruction in the after-school program based on our governing documents and organizational goals. A particular focus for this position will be working according to LSS and short-term supervision for students in grades 7-9, as well as after-school program activities under the Education Act. You will also work in the classroom. We expect you to take on pedagogical responsibility that requires resourcefulness, creativity, and flexibility, and to contribute to development processes related to the after-school program. You have high expectations for students and recognize their abilities and potential. The role requires strong ability to analyze student needs and skill in using teaching methods well-adapted to each student and group. We work extensively with visual supports and alternative communication. You enjoy working in teams and collaborate easily. The work requires cooperation with other colleagues at the school in a collaborative spirit. Your qualifications We are looking for you who are a certified teacher specialized in after-school programs and familiar with LSS and LifeCare. It is advantageous if you have prior experience working in after-school programs, preferably in an adapted elementary school. You are a stable and trustworthy person with a strong ability to build confidence with others. It is important that you can work independently, are clear and proactive, and are responsive in order to adapt to student needs and operational conditions. You work calmly and systematically with a low-key approach and maintain a positive and inclusive attitude toward students, colleagues, and parents. Other information Slottsjord Norr adapted elementary school has approximately 90 students in grades 1–9 and is located in central Halmstad. We provide after-school care for students in grades 1–9; for older students, the after-school program is an intervention under LSS, short-term supervision. After-school program hours are 06:15 to 18:15. Students should be offered meaningful time in the program, and instruction should be characterized by student participation and needs while promoting student social and creative development.
