Operation Description
Hakkas School in the village of Hakkas is a spacious primary school in a rural area of Gällivare Municipality. It includes preschool class, after-school program, and grades 1-9 of primary school. The school has approximately 70 students from Hakkas and surrounding villages, with some new residents. The school has close access to a swimming pool and large natural areas that are used in all student activities. Hakkas School is a small school where we develop close relationships and dare to succeed and fail together. Our vision is "For a future where everything is possible!". We continuously develop our teaching and learning environments so that students are given the best possible conditions to learn. Hakkas School has been granted ERASMUS+ accreditation for 2021-2027. This means ongoing collaborative projects with other schools throughout Europe with opportunities for work-related travel for all participating educators. The goals of the ERASMUS+ work are to collaborate with other schools in Europe that face similar challenges as we do, to strengthen students' motivation to learn multiple languages, further develop distance learning, and give students and teachers the opportunity to see their home region from new perspectives.
