Your Assignment
As a teacher of wood and metal crafts, you will teach students in grades 3-9. You are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating instruction in your subject based on the curriculum. You monitor, assess, grade, and document students' knowledge development, and maintain contact with guardians as needed. Mentoring may be included.
Teaching takes place in half-class groups in our craft workshop. You introduce various techniques, teach students to sketch and plan their work, and support them throughout the entire work process – from idea to finished product. Practical activities are combined with theoretical content about materials, techniques, sustainability, recycling, reuse, and safety. You encourage students' creativity and provide space for their own ideas and expression, and convey the importance and usefulness of crafts. Through an inclusive approach, you adapt instruction based on each student's needs and circumstances. When needed, you implement additional adaptations to ensure all students have the opportunity to succeed.
The role involves close collaboration with colleagues in both subject and grade-level teams, and you are part of a network within the principal's domain with several other crafts teachers. The school also has a textile crafts teacher. You will work closely together regarding students, planning, assessment, grading, and systematic quality improvement.
Your Experience
For this position, you must have:
teacher certification with subject qualifications in crafts for grades 3-9, with specialization in wood and metal crafts
experience with grading and assessment
experience teaching wood and metal crafts
experience working in schools
good digital competence and experience using digital tools
strong ability to communicate well in Swedish, both spoken and written
It is an asset if you also have:
experience working with students in need of additional adaptations and special support
experience with mentoring

You are comfortable working and planning together with colleagues on shared projects and grading. You have good pedagogical insight and a well-developed understanding of grading and assessment. You plan, implement, and follow up on instruction with clear structure and systematic documentation. You adapt instruction to students' different circumstances and learning styles, while maintaining a thoughtful balance between students' creativity and the pedagogical and safety requirements of the subject. As a person, you are flexible and easily adapt to changing circumstances while seeing opportunities in change. You take responsibility and initiative in your work, prepare materials, and ensure order and safety in the craft workshop. We place great importance on personal suitability.
