Kompetenscenter in Köping is the municipality's adult education center and is part of the Social and Labor Market Administration. Each year, over 800 students study with us in SFI, adapted education, basic and upper secondary adult education, and vocational college programs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As an SFI teacher, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on instruction according to current curriculum guidelines. You teach adult students with varying educational backgrounds, experiences, and study habits.
You actively work to develop students' Swedish language proficiency and support them on their path toward employment, further studies, and active participation in society. Teaching takes place primarily on study track 1, level A/B.
Your responsibilities include:
• Plan, implement, and evaluate SFI instruction
• Work to develop language skills and provide individualized instruction based on student needs
• Document and assess student progress
• Collaborate with colleagues, study and career advisors, and other stakeholders
• Contribute to the development of the program and collaborative learning
• Together with a student group, run a simple café at the school as a language development activity.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who
• Holds a teaching credential with qualification to teach SFI.
• Has strong knowledge of adult learning and language development.
• Is confident in your pedagogical role and has the ability to create motivation and a productive learning environment.
• Has good digital competence and uses digital tools as a natural part of instruction.
• Is flexible, solution-oriented, and has an inclusive approach.
• Has strong collaboration skills and contributes to a positive work environment.
Meritorious qualifications
• Qualification in multiple subjects.
• Experience with literacy and basic reading instruction.
• Experience teaching in municipal adult education or SFI.
• Experience with students with limited educational background.
• Experience with integrated programs combining language and vocational education.
• Experience with distance and online instruction.
• Knowledge of language and competency development approaches.
