Description We are now seeking a teacher for instruction in Swedish and English as well as Social Studies at Montessori School Elyseum. Montessori School Elyseum is a municipal primary school for grades 6-9. The school is located at Västgötagatan 2 between Heden and Ullevi. We share the building with an energy history museum. The school has one class per grade level (grades 6-9) plus a special instruction group with approximately 10 students, making it one of the city's smallest secondary schools. We work in accordance with Maria Montessori's ideas about the learning child, which shapes both our view of students and our pedagogy. We encourage genuine learning situations and regularly collaborate with businesses and organizations, conducting excursions and study visits in the surrounding community as much as possible. We want to give all students the opportunity to develop based on their individual abilities, stimulate their creativity, curiosity and self-confidence, utilize their ideas, and promote social competence. Responsibilities As a teacher, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on instruction at both group and individual levels. You are also responsible for adapting the regular class instruction in a way that meets each student where they are. Together with your colleagues, you create a stimulating, enjoyable, and varied school day with student success as the focus. Qualifications We are looking for a licensed teacher with certification to teach Swedish and English in grades 6-9. It is an advantage if you also have certification to teach social studies subjects and if you have several years of teaching experience, but we also welcome newly graduated teachers to apply. Training in and/or experience with Montessori pedagogy is also an advantage. As a person, you are energized by contributing to others' learning and you create conditions for learning to take place. As a newly graduated teacher, you will be included in Gothenburg Primary School Administration's Teacher Academy introduction program for newly graduated teachers.
