Description School District 1 in the Northeast comprises three schools: Bergumsskolan F-9, Gunnilseskolan F-6, and Björsaredsskolan F-3, located in the scenic Bergum-Gunnilse area with good bus connections. Nearby there are beautiful hiking trails and cycling paths, as well as a golf course and excellent service, cultural and sports facilities at Angereds centrum. The school district has approximately 1,100 students in total, and over 130 staff members work at our schools, including our cafeteria and maintenance personnel. At Bergumsskolan in Olofstorp, approximately 800 students from preschool through grade 9 attend, and the staff consists of about 80 colleagues, including teachers, student support services, and other support functions. Teachers are organized in work teams: F-3, 4-6, and one for each grade level in upper secondary. The school also has a special teaching group for students in grades 4-9. For many years, Bergumsskolan has worked from a systemic values-based approach and perspective, and we actively work to promote and prevent issues to maintain a calm, safe, and pleasant school and workplace for everyone. Next school year, we will have a brand new and state-of-the-art crafts building in operation. We are now seeking a certified and qualified crafts teacher (wood/metal & textiles) for grades 7-9! Job Duties As a crafts teacher, you are responsible for teaching crafts to grades 7-9. Your job duties include planning, implementing, and carefully following up on your subject instruction. You will be part of a grade 7-9 work team with teachers who have other subject competencies. Together you will work jointly to strengthen students' learning processes and create a good learning environment. You are also expected to participate in the school's development work together with colleagues and be receptive to ideas and suggestions. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is a certified teacher with the qualifications to teach grades 7-9 in wood/metal and textile crafts. If you have qualifications in other subjects, that is a merit. The position also requires good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, familiarity with the school's governing documents, and good computer skills. You have the ability to explain problems and information to different audiences and from different perspectives. You encourage dialogue, participation, and engagement.
